How applications are handled
Stellenmarkt carries 2,921 vacancies from 1,682 employers. Most take applications online; the rest by letter. Either way the application goes to the employer's personnel office, and the reply comes from there.
1. Apply
Press Apply now on a vacancy and answer three questions: your years in the trade, when you could start, and whether you have served. Your name and any covering note stay in your browser. For a post that takes letters only, print the letter laid out for you, sign it and post it.
2. The reference
Every application is given a reference beginning JB. It is the same whenever the page is opened, and it is the only record: the Employment Office keeps none. Your applications are listed in your account on this browser.
3. The reply
Employers read applications on the day they arrive, under the Labour Exchanges regulations. There are three replies: an invitation to interview, with a date, a time, a room and the name of the person you will see; a reading, with a decision after the closing date; or a note that the post has been filled.
What Stellenmarkt never asks for
Your address, your papers of residence, your discharge certificate, a photograph, a fee or a deposit. An employer may ask to see your papers at interview, not before. Complaints are taken at any town hall on form EO-12, or by the advisers of the Employment Office of The Ministry of the Interior.
